An
interview with Gabriella Betarrini…
What do
you miss the most about the modern world when you're in Ancient Siena?
I guess
it’d be convenience. Toilet paper, tampons, toothpaste, electricity, cars,
planes, phones, books, Internet. You really don’t know what all you have until
it’s all gone! That said, when we’re not in battle, life here is wayyyy more
peaceful. Slower. It’s hard to describe, but somehow life is just more whole here. You work harder for things,
but it helps you decide what’s really important. You don’t get all wrapped up
in what isn’t.
Is the
14th century anything like what you'd imagined?
To be
honest, I’d never really thought about what life was like in this time period.
I think I’m kinda like any other teenager—pretty wrapped up in the present. Now
this is my present. And I wish I’d paid more attention in history class.
Do you
think you could stay in the past forever?
If one
certain guy is here with me…along with my family. YES.
Do you
find that ancient views of women make it difficult for you in the past?
* Laughs * Uh, yeah. They pretty much don’t know
what to make of the Betarrini girls here. Because we’re used to equal rights
and equal opportunity, we’re immediately weirdos. And when we’re discriminated
against as women, it makes us mad. And then they think THAT is weird. So…I have
to bite my tongue a lot.
What
is time travel really like? Would you recommend it to anyone else?
Recommend
it? I don’t know about that. If you’re ready for your whole life to turn
upside-down, maybe. And if you don’t mind your life being in danger at every
turn. But I do know this…If I return to my own time, I know the experience will
have changed me forever. In good ways. Very good ways.

Reasons why I love Gabi? She's one bad assed heroine who doesn't take crap! :D
Nice interview!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to interview one of my She-Wolves!
:)
Hi Gabi, I can see how life in Ancient Siena would be more slower and peaceful. In the present time, sometimes I find it hard to catch up! Everything seems to always be moving - it's quite hectic.
Weirdos for speaking out! haha. that's great. And I love that they have facebook pages. :D
I think it would be fun to time travel but I don't think I could stay there unless, like you, met a guy and my family was with me :)
great interview
I <3 Gabi! She's so kickass! Thank you for the interview:)

Great interview!
I enjoyed the character interview.
It was great getting to know you Gabi. I love studying the medieval times, but I don't think I could manage living during that time. I, like you, would miss the conveniences of the
21st Century (electricity, plumbing, a/c, & heat) too much.
I ♥ GABI!!!
Gabi, I thin you're such a lucky girl. I would definitly go back to 13th century Italy if i had the chance, and would give up the present if I had my family there with me.
Wow, thanks for the info Gabi! It's nice to learn a little bit about you. I can't wait to start this series. It's been on my TBR list for a while now.
i prefer the stability so that's probably not for me but i admire how you handle that
Gabi's totally awesome
I enjoyed reading more about Gabi. Thank you! I'm not sure how I'd manage my hair without electricity, lol.
I love that Gabi talked about the dangers of time travel and not about how cool it is.
It really was a different world back then, without women's rights. But I think some women just had that in them even then.
What a fun interview! Thanks! :)
It really would be weird to travel back in time and leave all of our technology here... Weird :) Thanks Gabi :)
Love the She-Wolves . . .
I have read this series probably 3 times already. I can't wait for BOURNE!

Gabi is a strong character and I like that about her.
it would take a lot of courage to go back in time and leave behind modern technology.. i don't know how she does it.. i live on my phone!
Lol.. great interview :)
Thank you Gabbi, for taking time away from hubby and family to satisfy our curiousity!
